Welcome to the 1-ID beamline at the Advanced Photon Source (APS) located at Argonne National Laboratory (ANL). This beamline is operated by the Materials Physics & Engineering Group (MPE) of the APS X-ray Science Division (XSD).
1-ID provides brilliant, high-energy x-ray beams for a variety of scientific applications.Approximately 80% of the available 1-ID beamtime is accessible to outside users through the General User program. Techniques available include:
- High-energy small- and wide-angle x-ray scattering
- High-energy diffraction microscopy (near-field and far-field modes)
- High-energy x-ray tomography
- Pair-distribution function (PDF), including resonant PDF.
- High-energy x-ray fluorescence
